Can we say ATTITUDE!
Wow! so I should blog more often … the only major mess I’ve had since I started this blog was that Mercury thought it would be fun to unroll the entire roll of toilet paper which has happened like 15 times before so its not a humongous deal. Crazy it is weird for me not to have a big mess to clean up at least once or twice a day. I hope this is not the calm before the storm. At any rate I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. On the other hand, things have not been all sunshine and daisy’s around here these past few days/weeks. Mercury has recently started a not so fun stage of bossiness, anger, disobedience, defiance, rage, and screaming. It seems he is almost never happy. If things do not go exactly the way he wants he freaks out and screams. I hear a lot of “It’s not yours!”, “NO!!!”, “Stop it!”, “(Mommy/Daddy/Zeal) go to time out!”, “Aaaaaaah!”, ” thats Mercury’s!”, “Thats mine!”, “Give it back to Mercury, NOW!”,”No way”, “I want (fill in the blank) NOW!”, growling, and hissing. These are often combined with hitting, throwing things, pushing, and fist pounding. This makes it very difficult for me to remember that he is three and I should not reason with him or scream back. The worst for me is when he screams (painfully loud) right into my ear when I pick him up to put him in time out or in his room. It takes everything I have not to scream and throw him across the room. Bah! Motherhood… its not for the weak. It takes real strength to keep your cool in these types of situations! So kudos to all you moms out there who can keep their cool all the time! You are better women than I 🙂
(pst! There are no such women!)
